Ramadan: Harvest Season, Not a Magic Beginning
by Tahani Zuhair Ahmed
For years, many of us have waited for Ramadan as if it were a magical gateway. We enter it hoping to wake up the next morning completely transformed, with our healing journey magically complete.
But true healing doesn't work that way. It doesn't happen in sudden leaps or overnight miracles.
As a Holistic Therapist, I invite you to see Ramadan through a different lens this year:
Ramadan is not the "magic ON button" for recovery.
It is the mirror that reflects back to us every effort we've made, every step we've walked, every wound we've tended, and every ounce of awareness we've chosen in the months that passed.
Ramadan doesn't create a "new you" out of nowhere.
It witnesses the beautiful person you've been silently building all year long.
It is harvest season.
The time to reap what we've planted in the soil of our souls - through sincere intentions, healthy habits, and conscious choices.
So let's welcome it, not with the fear of "what if I don't change?"
But with deep gratitude: "Thank God for showing me the fruits of my efforts, and for allowing me to witness myself at my best."
The holy month isn't here to manufacture miracles from nothing.
It's here to reveal to the world the miracle of continuity that you've been cultivating every single day.
Make this Ramadan a celebration of your inner balance.
A journey of gratitude for the continuity of your healing.
